{"id":144824,"date":"2025-01-21T09:00:03","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T14:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=144824"},"modified":"2025-04-14T10:49:23","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T14:49:23","slug":"2025-us-news-online-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/2025-us-news-online-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"Excellence in Digital Learning Recognized: UCF\u2019s Online Programs Rank Top 10 in Nation Once Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For decades, UCF has been at the forefront of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/\">online education<\/a> by integrating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/transformative-technologies-and-national-security\/\">advanced technology<\/a> and strategies at both the undergraduate and graduate level to provide high-quality, flexible learning pathways that meet students\u2019 needs where they are.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/premier-engineering-and-technology-university\/\">engineering<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/health-and-human-performance\/\">healthcare<\/a> and criminal justice to nursing, hospitality, leadership and management, and education, UCF has grown its portfolio of fully online programs to offer students a wide range of options that support our workforce needs and fuel a pipeline of skilled professionals across a range of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/economic-impact\/\">in-demand industries and sectors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Given the breadth of these academic offerings, <strong><em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em><\/strong> has once again affirmed the quality of UCF\u2019s online degrees by placing the<strong> university ninth in the nation for<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/bachelors\/\"><strong>Best Online Bachelor\u2019s Programs<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0This recognition marks the fourth consecutive year UCF\u2019s online programs have been ranked in the top 10, a testament to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/faculty\/\">expert faculty<\/a>\u2019s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality and excellence. Of the 15 UCF national rankings from <em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em>, seven programs made the top 10, one made the top 15, and six were in the top 50.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No. 4 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/degree\/psychology-b-s\/\">Best Online Bachelor\u2019s Programs in Psychology<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No. 8 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/military-admissions\/\">Best Online Bachelor\u2019s Programs for Veterans<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No. 8 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/degree\/lodging-and-restaurant-management-bs\/\">Best Online Bachelor\u2019s Programs for Business \u2013 Lodging &amp; Restaurant Management<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No. 9 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/bachelors\/\">Best Online Bachelor\u2019s Programs Overall<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No. 12 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/degree\/criminal-justice-m-s\/\">Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No. 17 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/online\/degree\/nursing-m-s-n\/\">Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs Overall<\/a><\/li>\n<li>No. 17 for Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs Overall<\/li>\n<li>No. 39 for Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs Overall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UCF Online programs are able to provide flexibility for thousands of students to succeed even as they juggle jobs and family responsibilities. Students are able to better their lives through distance learning thanks to the flexibility of UCF Online\u2019s many programs. Before they teach any online class, every instructor receives 80 hours of demanding training.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the UCF Online Connect Center team works with students as advocates and guides throughout their fully online academic experience at UCF. Success coaches are available to help students locate resources and create effective strategies to ensure their success. These skilled success coaches are specifically trained, motivational partners\u202fwho help students along the path of their academic journey, providing high-level support, coordination and guidance for UCF Online students from the time of admission through graduation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUCF began offering online courses in 1996 and in the ensuing decades has excelled at delivering quality distance learning and continually innovating,\u201d says Tom Cavanagh, vice provost for Digital Learning at UCF. \u201cThe ongoing refinement of UCF Online programs is thanks to our expert faculty, development support team and online success coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Helping Students Achieve Their Goals \u2014 Even if They\u2019re 1,000 Miles Away<\/h2>\n<p>Prospective students may worry about their ability to handle online coursework \u2014 especially if they live in a distant part of the U.S. or abroad. But they needn\u2019t wring their hands over it. UCF Online offers flexibility in coursework, giving students the opportunity to succeed whether it\u2019s for a bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s or graduate degree.<\/p>\n<p>Max Melguizo is a good example. He attended UCF but decided to take another route along the way: joining the U.S. Air Force before finishing his studies. The now 26-year-old hadn\u2019t attended college classes in more than four years \u2014 until he discovered UCF Online classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI joined the Air Force in 2020, and my goal is to become a fighter pilot,\u201d Melguizo says. \u201cI\u2019m stationed in Illinois, which is pretty far from my previous home in Orlando, so initially I was concerned about being able to manage everything. But with online courses I don\u2019t have to worry about going anywhere for tests or quizzes.
