{"id":150595,"date":"2026-01-23T10:10:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T15:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=150595"},"modified":"2026-02-05T07:27:04","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T12:27:04","slug":"state-investments-in-nursing-education-continue-to-strengthen-ucfs-impact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/state-investments-in-nursing-education-continue-to-strengthen-ucfs-impact\/","title":{"rendered":"State Investments in Nursing Education Continue to Strengthen UCF\u2019s Impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ongoing state investments in nursing education are helping UCF expand access to high \u00a0quality training, graduate more practice\u2011 ready nurses, and meet Florida\u2019s growing healthcare workforce needs.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2022, Florida has invested more than $485 million in nursing education through the Linking Industry to Nursing Education (LINE) and Prepping Institutions, Programs, Employers, and Learners through Incentives for Nursing Education (PIPELINE) programs. These initiatives support scholarships for students, recruitment of additional faculty and preceptors, and investments in equipment and simulation based\u2011 learning environments across the state.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced more than $20 million in new LINE funding, including $6 million for State University System institutions, continuing the state\u2019s commitment to expanding nursing program capacity and addressing workforce shortages statewide. \u201cFlorida is investing at scale to expand nursing programs and strengthen the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/health-and-human-performance\/\">healthcare<\/a> workforce,\u201d DeSantis says.<\/p>\n<h2>Funding That Fuels Growth at UCF<\/h2>\n<p>UCF has been a state leader in leveraging LINE and PIPELINE funding to expand its College of Nursing. In the 2023\u201324 state budget, the university received more than $22 million to support nursing education, including $7.6 million in PIPELINE funding \u2014 the largest allocation among Florida\u2019s public universities.<\/p>\n<p>That investment allowed UCF to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase undergraduate nursing enrollment by more than 100 students across multiple campuses<\/li>\n<li>Hire additional faculty and staff to support growing enrollment<\/li>\n<li>Expand hands on training opportunities critical to student success<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Strengthening Partnerships and Clinical Training<\/h2>\n<p>Through the LINE program, 女仆AV partners with leading Central Florida healthcare systems, including Pegasus Partners AdventHealth, Nemours Children\u2019s Health and Orlando Health to secure dollar-for-dollar matching funds. These partnerships support student scholarships and enhancements to simulation and laboratory equipment, helping the university expand access to high-quality education.<\/p>\n<p>Pending LINE proposals would provide $737,500 in total matching funds, strengthening clinical training pipelines and reinforcing UCF\u2019s role in preparing nurses for local and regional healthcare
